Want to knit a fabulous accessory that achieves a rich, multi-coloured tapestry look with mosaic knitting? The Shift cowl by Andrea Mowry may be your next favourite project.

We’ve been loving our new yarn, SweetGeorgia Trifecta DK, and wanted to showcase how the subtle colour variegation of the hand-dyed shades bring nuance and contrast to the knitted fabric. The soft hand of the yarn, and the lovely shine of the Bluefaced Leicester wool, mohair, and silk glow, making this project a pleasure to knit.
We chose three shades with value contrast between them: Coastline, Lupine and Amber Ale. This allows the mosaic pattern to be seen clearly while knitting. We also love the colour changes, which let us enjoy how one colour plays against the other two individually on the same canvas.

Andrea Mowry is widely known for creating highly accessible, wearable, and texturally rich knitting patterns, and The Shift cowl is a perfect example of her design aesthetic.
