Picnic Plaid Napkins for Sunny Summer Days at the Park
Who doesn’t love a set of handwoven napkins? They catch the eye at dinner gatherings, feel special for everyday use, and are perfect for a relaxed picnic in the park. Kathryn Steely designed these stunning Picnic Plaid Napkins, and we are so excited to share them with everyone.
Picnic Plaid Napkins
This pattern creates four beautiful and generously-sized napkins, woven in a simple straight draw twill with a delicate fringe. The asymmetrical plaid brings each napkin to life with colour and interest, drawing you into the diagonal twill lines with subtle optical colour mixing throughout.
Woven in Gist 8/2 Beam, these unmercerized organic cotton napkins are soft and amazingly absorbent. They feel so good in your hands, you may start dreaming about a matching scarf. Gist 8/2 Beam offers a beautiful range of vibrant colours, making it an easy and inspiring choice for your next weaving project.

Once you weave one set, it is hard not to imagine new colour combinations for the next batch. The main colour uses the majority of a cone, while the accent colours are perfect for colour exploration and stash busting.
