Knitting with a Halo: The Magic of Silk Mist and CashLuxe Fine in Pink Fizz
This year at h+h Americas in Chicago, our team at SweetGeorgia had the pleasure of knitting a collection of samples that showcased the beauty of our hand-dyed yarns. Among them was the Pink Fizz sweater. Designed by Andrea Mowry, this sample quickly became a standout favourite. With its airy mohair halo and soft wool base, this project highlights the magic that happens when you combine our SweetGeorgia Silk Mist and CashLuxe Fine yarns. The result is a garment that’s both glamorous and irresistibly cozy. It’s perfect for knitters who love to play with colour, texture, and a touch of luxury in their handmade wardrobe.

KNITTING THE PINK FIZZ SWEATER
The Pink Fizz sample—designed by Andrea Mowry—has quickly became a favourite. Knitters are instantly captivated by its incredible softness. Created to showcase our hand-dyed yarns in action, this project was chosen to highlight a delicate mohair halo paired with a soft wool and cashmere blend yarn. Combining the airy, ethereal quality of SweetGeorgia Silk Mist with the luxurious softness of SweetGeorgia CashLuxe Fine, creates the ultimate sweater coziness.

Knit seamlessly (except for the underarms) from the bottom up, this sweater has a drop shoulder style with positive ease in the body and slim-fit sleeves. Andrea’s Pink Fizz design leaves you feeling a little bit glamorous and completely cozy.
Double-Stranded Knitting
Holding two strands of yarn together when knitting, known as double-stranded knitting, can be a fun way to play with colour and texture in your knits. Combining different coloured yarns can create a beautiful marled effect to the finished piece. You can select either a high contrast colour pairing for a stronger, more noticeable marled effect. Or, look to colours that will provide a subtle contrast—similar colours that instead highlight the difference of texture. This can be achieved when pairing a smooth yarn such as SweetGeorgia CashLuxe Fine with the soft halo of our SweetGeorgia Silk Mist yarn.

As Felicia talks about in her double-stranded knitting vlog episode, the hue and contrast you choose will create a variety of different overall looks. Along with this video, Felicia also created a helpful Colour Mixing Guide for download. In it, you can explore nearly 50 double-stranded colour combinations and choose the ones you love best.
