The Fastest Way to Knit i-Cord — Caydo Electric i-Cord Knitting Tricotin Machine i1 Pro
Let’s be honest, making i-cord by hand can be slow and inconsistent. The traditional way of knitting i-cord involves casting on a few stitches onto two double-pointed needles and then knitting those stitches over and over, without turning your work.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a ton of time to knit i-cord by hand, so I also learned how to knit it on my circular sock machine too. Again, remove all the needles from the cylinder except 3 or 4 needles and then cast on and crank around and around.
Caydo reached out to me to ask me to try out their brand new offering — the Caydo Electric i-Cord Knitting Machine i1 Pro. They have previously created i-cord makers, including hand crank tools, but this new one is amazing. It completely automates the process and produces perfect, beautifully tensioned I-cord in minutes.
I have really fallen in love with my Caydo Electric Yarn Ball Winder M1 Pro (see my review video here) and use it almost exclusively now, so I was looking forward to seeing what Caydo would create for an i-cord tool.
In this video, I unbox the machine and walk you through the setup process, sharing my thoughts on its performance. I was pleasantly surprised by how intuitive it was to use! The machine operates quietly and efficiently, allowing you to crank out yards and yards of knitted cord while you work on other projects. If you’re curious about how this machine works and what you can create with it, join me for today’s unboxing!
