Crochet in Style: Crafting the Sivu Tee in Linen and Silk

A stunning top-down crochet tee crafted in a hand-dyed linen and silk blend yarn, the Sivu Tee design by Linda Skuja is perfect for elevating any warm-weather outfit. Paired with SweetGeorgia Flaxen Silk Fine, this linen and silk yarn beautifully showcases the tee’s enchanting leaf stitch yoke. Creating a crisp yet drapey fabric ideal for summer and for those seeking a wool-free project.

CROCHETING THE SIVU TEE

As designer Linda Skuja shares about the Sivu Tee, this pattern is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. A top-down, short-sleeved crochet top, it is a sister pattern to Linda’s Sivu Sweater design.

Paired with SweetGeorgia Flaxen Silk Fine, this linen and silk blend yarn beautifully highlights the enchanting leaf stitch pattern on the yoke of the tee. The yarn creates a crisp yet drapey fabric, making it a wonderful choice for crocheters looking to something wool-free. It’s one of our most popular yarns for summer projects.

The Sivu Tee pattern was designed using sport-weight yarn and a 5 mm hook; however, SweetGeorgia Flaxen Silk Fine is a light fingering-weight yarn. Due to these differences, Charlotte chose to crochet the pattern using a 4 mm hook and followed the size 4 instructions. This resulted in the finished project with dimensions similar to size 3.

Notes

From the designer, Linda Skuja:
Introducing the exquisite Sivu Tee, a sister pattern to the Sivu Sweater. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this top-down crochet masterpiece boasts elegance and versatility. Elevate your wardrobe with its enchanting leaf stitch pattern adorning the yoke, harmoniously juxtaposed with a sleek and understated body.
Note: The pattern calls for sport-weight yarn using a 5 mm hook. However, due to the Flaxen Silk Fine being a light fingering-weight yarn, Charlotte used a 4 mm hook and crocheted size 4, hoping for it to end up similar to the dimensions of size 3.
