Celebrate National Crochet Month with Us!

March is National Crochet Month, and we’re embracing all things crochet with exciting projects, tutorials, and inspiration. Whether you’re a seasoned crocheter or just picking up a hook, we invite you to join us in celebrating this beautiful craft!

The Jethro Cardigan

Who doesn’t love the Jethro Cardigan? This stunning project blends crocheting and knitting, creating a stunning cardigan that will be the talk of the party (trust us, we know!). Felicia adapted the knitting sections on her Silver Reed LK150 knitting machine, which you can now order from SweetGeorgia Yarns!

Years ago, she started the Summer Garden crochet blanket, a beautiful circle granny pattern by Attic 24, intended as a blanket for her baby at the time. Well, Nina is now 9 years old! Instead of a blanket, Felicia is transforming those colourful granny circles into a mini-Jethro Cardigan for her daughter, using bright, cheerful shades from older SweetGeorgia colourways.

Coast to Colour Shawl

Granny squares are just the beginning! Charlotte Lee’s newly launched Coast to Colour Shawl for National Crochet Month is inspired by granny triangles, creating a stunning crochet shawl using SweetGeorgia’s Blazing Trails Party of Five Minis in Superwash DK. This five-colour design is easy to work up: after the setup row, the pattern simply repeats one row, making it an enjoyable, rhythmic project. If you love colour play and simple, beautiful crochet, this is one to try.

Felicia will demonstrate this stitch on March 14th! Stay in the loop by joining our newsletter so you never miss a new pattern launch. And be sure to subscribe to the SweetGeorgia YouTube channel to catch our latest videos as soon as they drop!

The pattern includes multiple variations, like gradient and striped versions, and has two stunning border options. One features simple, clean lines, while the other adds texture with a scalloped lace look using a Bobble Stitch border. Felicia will have a video tutorial on March 21st, where she walks through this beautiful finishing touch!

Connecting with our Crochet Community

Felicia has been working on a sock-blank version of this shawl during our Multicraftual Monday Meetup on Mondays. If you’re working on your own crochet projects, join us for some community crafting. We hope you can join us and be part of the fun.

If you’re curious about the sock blank Felicia is using, you can find it in our shop! It’s part of our SweetGeorgia Secret Stash Club, where each month, we create a one-of-a-kind colourway on a fingering-weight yarn base. Want to see what’s available? Check out past club editions that are still in stock, and sign up for future club months!
