The Invisible Join Technique
Equipment
Materials
- 1 skein SweetGeorgia Superwash DK
- 2 Granny squares
Instructions
-
Start by laying out your squares in the pattern you prefer. To connect them, we will be using the same stitch on both squares; in the video, this is the centre of chain 3, right at the square’s turning point. Insert through the outside leg of each V stitch. When looking down, the top square’s V will point to the left, while the bottom square’s V will point to the right. Start by inserting the hook into the top square’s right leg of the V.
-
Now, go through the right leg of the bottom square’s V.
-
Next, yarn over and pull through both legs to complete the setup.
-
Once you’ve got that first stitch done, the rest is smooth sailing!
-
Now, we just have to repeat the process! Insert your hook into the top square, then the bottom square, pull through a loop, yarn over, and go through all three loops.
-
It’s a rhythm you’ll get the hang of quickly. Most of the trick is knowing where to place your hook. Once that’s done, it’s just easy, breezy crochet joining from there!
